Gloves "When it rains my gloves get wet and black comes off onto my hands." Solution 1: Wash your gloves in dish washing soap and let them soak. Rinse them well and let them air dry. This will remove the dye from the gloves without hurting the integrity of the gloves. Solution 2: Carry a few pairs of surgical gloves in your trunk. Wearing them under your leather gloves will keep the black off and keep your hands dry in the rain. Note: Olympia makes a waterproof glove called "Monsoon." Shell: Deluxe washable/waterproof, leather. Insulation: Waterproof, Breathable, Windproof Aquatex insert. Lightweight, smooth cool tricot lining. No black on hands! Usually found at Rallies for $39.95 Also deer skin gloves will not produce black on your hands.
Winter Tire Care When storing your Wing for the winter positioned on the center stand, often the front wheel will touch. In an unheated garage place a thin board under the tire to keep it off the cold concrete. In both a heated and unheated garage it is a good idea to give the front and rear tires a quarter turn once a month.

Putting on your rain gear This is a tip we learned from Mike and Kathy. When putting on your rain gear, place a plastic grocery bag over your boots to help your rain pants slide on easier and more quickly. It will also prevent water and mud from getting on the inside of the rain pants.
A Few Maintenance Tips When you remove a cover or piece from your Wing, clean both sides while you have it in you hand and then spray the grommets with silicone to make it easier to remove next time. Keep a clean rag stuffed in the long neck of the funnel you use for oil changes so it will not collect dust. Occasionally pull the fork dust shield up on each fork and clean under them with a clean cloth. In very warm weather it is a good idea to fill the gas tank after a ride before parking your bike. The air in the tank holds moisture and as the air cools the moisture will condense and fall into the gas. Since water is heavier than gas it will fall to the bottom of the tank. Also, always store your bike for the winter with a full gas tank.
